Description

Green Pesto with Fresh Basil, Pesto Verde, is an Italian dark green sauce for pasta originating in the Liguria region. It’s made with basil, extra virgin olive oil, Grana Padano and Pecorino Romano cheese. It is an uncooked sauce preserved in glass.

Pasta’s best friend and arguably one of the greatest Italian exports, pesto is now a ubiquitous ingredient in everyday home cooking. Its heady combination of basil, Grana Padano and Pecorino Romano cheeses, pine nuts, olive oil and garlic make of this sauce one of the most appreciated and an interesting ingredient for many dishes. You can try it in so many ways: on a pasta or rice dish, with mashed potatoes, added to soups for enriching their taste (especially yummy in tomato or minestrone soup), added to mayonnaise and served on green salad leaves, spread on fish fillets (such as cod, wrapped in greaseproof paper and oven baked), mixed with ricotta cheese and used in place of traditional sauce for a quick vegetarian lasagna dish or added to omelettes. You can invent and improvise, Pesto will always add a special touch to your recipes!

Ingredients: basil, sunflower oil, potato flakes, salt, water, grana padano cheese (milk, salt, rennet, preservative: lysozyme from egg), cashew, sugar, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino romano cheese (milk, salt, rennet), garlic, pine nuts, acidity regulator: glucono delta lactone, antioxidant: ascorbic acid.
