1 bottle (750 mL) dry white wine such as Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio
2 cups apple cider, plus 2 tablespoons reserved
24 ounces ginger beer
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 apples, sliced or diced (peels on), your choice
1 tablespoon Mulling Spice Blend in muslin bag, disposable tea bag, or tied in cheesecloth
1 cup frozen cranberries
1/4 cup Cinnamon Sugar, pulsed fine in blender as a glass rimmer
Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise for garnish (optional)
In a large pitcher, stir together wine, apple cider, ginger beer and lemon juice.
Add apples and mulling spice bag. Let sit for 2 hours or up to overnight.
On one small plate pour reserved apple cider, on second plate spread out the cinnamon sugar.
Wet the edge of serving glass in apple cider and then dip edge in cinnamon sugar to rim the glass.
Remove mulling spice bag from pitcher, add frozen cranberries and serve sangria over ice in garnished glass.
