Traditional Green Teas

Green tea is prolific: Sencha, Gyokuro, Matcha, Genmai Cha, Fukamushi, Dragon Well, African, Mao Fung, the list goes on and on. Whatever your preference, green tea is packed with polyphenols, chief among them catechins, which are thought to have antioxidant effects on the body, helping to promote a strong, healthy immune system. Green tea also contains caffeine, a known stimulant, but at levels much lower than coffee. However, the caffeine in tea is buffered by theanine which metabolizes the caffeine much slower and evenly in the body, resulting in a longer, sustained energy level which studies suggest helps improve mental functioning.
